Understand your network results

Practical guides to IP geolocation, ASNs, network labels and split routing, with sources and clear limits.

How accurate is IP geolocation?

IP geolocation estimates the region associated with a network address. It is not GPS or a home address. Read the source, update date, precision and agreement between sources alongside the location.

What is an ASN, and how does it relate to a provider?

An ASN identifies an autonomous system in internet routing. It helps explain network relationships and routing context, but does not by itself establish a provider brand, server location or user's identity.

What do residential, hosting, VPN and proxy labels mean?

These labels describe network uses or connection methods identified by a source. Labels can overlap or become outdated. A label alone cannot establish fraud, IP safety or guaranteed access to a service.

What can a split-routing test actually prove?

A split-routing test compares network observations from requests to different targets in your current session. Conclusions require data that a target returned and the browser could read. A failed test does not by itself prove a website outage or a broken proxy rule.
